Brief History Of Achievers University Iwo

Achievers University is a privately owned institution situated on Idasen/Uteh Road, Owo, Ondo State. It was founded in 2007.

The history of Achievers University originated from the previous educational entity, the Achievers Group of Education and Training Organization, established by its founder, the Honourable Bode Ayorinde, and situated in Ibadan.

A strategy was initiated to create Achievers University from the educational entity Achievers Group of Education. The initiative succeeded with the establishment of Achievers University in 2007, commencing operations on April 2, 2008, on 108 hectares of land.

Upon its inception, Achievers University commenced with slightly more than 100 students and two colleges; however, according to the 2025/2026 figures, the institution has now graduated over 14 cohorts and has had 14 cohorts engage in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

Achievers is the inaugural private university created in the united regions of Ondo and Ekiti states. The college has attained various accomplishments since its inception, notably being the first university in Nigeria to implement the Top Up program for HND graduates in 2011.

The university adheres to robust governing council regulations and quality assurance protocols that require 70% attendance, so ensuring students’ compliance with lecture attendance.

Application Process For Achievers University Admission

UTME PREREQUISITES

Candidates applying to Achievers University should note the following:

i)Candidates are required to have sat for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) with a minimum score of 150 as approved by JAMB.

ii)Applicants must also obtain a minimum of five credit passes at not more than two sittings (at one sitting for MBBS) in WAEC (SSCE)/ NECO (SSCE) or NABTEB. These should include English Language, Mathematics and any three other subjects relevant to the proposed course of study.

Direct Entry Candidates

DIRECT ENTRY CANDIDATES INTO 200 LEVEL

As for A (ii.) above, but with 2 passes at either A Level, IJMB or JUPEB examinations. Holders of ND, NCE, or ATS results are eligible for admission to relevant disciplines. Candidates are also expected to have purchased the Direct Entry form of JAMB for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

  • Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.NSc.) Direct Entry candidates shall, in addition to A (ii.) above, shall hold at least two A Level passes in Biology/Zoology and any one of Chemistry or Physics; OR the Registered Nursing Certificate (RN) of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria; OR B.Sc. degree (with at least Second Class Lower) in any of the Biological and Health Sciences.
  • Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (B.MLS) Direct Entry candidates shall, in addition to A (ii.) above, hold at least two A Level passes in Biology/Zoology and any one of Chemistry or Physics; Medical Laboratory Technician Diploma of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN); B.Sc. degree with at least Second Class Lower in any of the Biological Sciences.
  • Candidates applying for the Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) programmes shall, in addition to A (ii.) above, hold at least two A Level passes, including Mathematics and Physics, OR National Diploma (Upper Credit) in Engineering.
  • Bachelor of Law (LL.B) Direct Entry candidates shall, in addition to A (ii.) above, have obtained two papers at Principal or Advanced level in HSC, GCE, IJMB or JUPEB; OR an acceptable bachelor’s degree. DIRECT ENTRY CANDIDATES INTO 300 LEVEL

In addition to A (ii.) above, candidates should be holders of HND in their respective fields of study. HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Statistics or Mathematics is acceptable for B.Sc. Computer Science. HND in Computer Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering is acceptable for B.Eng. Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. HND in Civil Engineering is acceptable for B.Eng. Civil Engineering. Holders of professional certificates such as ACCA, ACIB, ACIS, ACIN and ACIT are eligible for admission into Accounting and Business Administration.
