How to Calculate Departmental Cut-off Mark In UNN

The University Of Nigeria, Nsukka does not admit students based on JAMB score alone, it is usually 60% from JAMB and 40% from the Post-UTME.

The total is then compared against the departmental cut-off mark. For Nursing Science, the aggregate cut-off is usually between 75% and 78% before considering giving a student admission.

Example On How To Calculate The UNN Cut-off Mark :

  • JAMB Score: 290

  • Post-UTME Score: 300

JAMB Component: 290 ÷ 400 × 60 = 43.5
Post-UTME Component: 300 ÷ 400 × 40 = 30
Total Aggregate: 43.5 + 30 = 73.5%

This score is decent but still below the target. That’s why scoring above 290 in JAMB and high in Post-UTME is key to gaining admission for Nursing to stand a higher chance.
